Best Diamond Cut – Choosing The Perfect Diamonds

When purchasing a diamond for an engagement ring, pendant or earrings, it is important to understand it’s basic characteristics – cut, clarity, color and carat weight. These are the four C’s of a diamond. For many the search for the perfect diamond is a new experience that can often be overwhelming and scary, but it doesn’t have to be. With the right guidance you will learn to carefully evaluate each characteristic to ensure that when the time comes for you to buy a diamond you will be well prepared and ready to take the leap.

The cut of the diamond determines its brilliance, how well it reflects and refracts light. The better a diamond cut is, the more sparkle it will have. The color grade of a diamond actually refers to the lack of color in a diamond. It is graded on a scale of D (colorless) to Z (light yellow.) The most valuable stones contain little to no color. Diamond clarity indicates the absence or presence of natural inclusions or blemishes in the stone. Almost all diamonds have some tiny blemishes we refer to as their unique natural beauty. The last C refers to carat weight of the diamond, simply it is one of the most well known factors.
